Early Years Outside Provision Development

The outside environment is as important as the classroom in every school. This is even more important in Early Years settings. The provision  for equitable  learning opportunities  outside is a regular comment within Ofsted reports. This provision is a combination of the larger structural environment, the  manipulatives of self directed learning and the microscopic awe and wonder created by unexpected natural events.

We can  support settings in planning  and developing the big stuff, planning  and facilitating the learning opportunities and leaving enough of the natural world to create the wow factor.

Create

Create something new to stimulate an excitement for learning. Consider vertical planting to create a green space from a drab concrete space.

Renew

Renew something old to bring it back into the children's, as well as the adult's, focus. That plain wall could become a water wall or a music station.

Utilise

Utilise every aspect available to you. That  annoying  corner  can become den building. That pesky root can become the home of a mystery creature!
